Usually 8 hours but 6 hours is okay.

Yes, that's what my sister told me.

Do you sleepwalk?
No.

Are you a pillow person?
Yes, I have four pillows in my bed. Two under my head, one on the side and one that I hug.

Yup. Usually, I eat cereals for breakfast. Rice for lunch, then for dinner minsan rice pa rin or minsan light snack na lang.

Tried and I didn't like it.

You don’t drink?
I'm a casual drinker, I have a low tolerance for alcohol.

Yes. Feeling sexy is all in the mind.

How’s your love life?
I'm single.

And your sex life?
You want an honest answer? *Sigh*

Have you ever had sex with a stranger?
Yes.

Are you a good kisser?
They say that good kissers go places.

What are you looking for?
Physical attraction still matters, I would be hypocrite if I don't say that but as I mature, I am longing more for a good conversation.

Favorite city?
I enjoy travelling, I've been in the big cities here in the US. My goal is to visit all the states here. For now, I like New York and Denver. Hopefully next year I would be able to go to Europe or South America. But honestly, I also miss Manila.

Things they don't know
Like anyone else, I want to love and be loved.

Are you happy at this moment?
No. But I'll try. I will.

Monument Valley and Four Corners

After leaving the Grand Canyon, we headed to the magnificent Monument Valley. We drove through this incredible landscape, listening to Eheads downloaded-limewire music and simply soaking up the experience. As is to be expected in one of the most photographed places on the planet. We approached Monument Valley across the desert and for the first time in my life I appreciated the word “deserted.” It is several hundred miles to ANYWHERE from space! Lol!This valley is located on the Arizona-Utah border and is part of the Navajo Nation Tribal Park. We stopped for a while and captured some images, but it is difficult to capture this special place in photographs or words. Next stop- Four Corners!

This is the only place in the United States where four states come together at one place. Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado meet at the Four Corners. Here a person can put each of their hands and feet in four states at the same time.

Here I am with my right hand in New Mexico, my left hand in Utah, my left foot in Colorado and my right foot in Arizona! That's pretty amazing!

The Grand Canyon

Majestic!
Yes, it is. When I saw it for the first time as we were approaching the south rim, I could not help myself to praise the mighty force which creates this gigantic canyon. Standing by the edge, the marvelous view of Grand Canyon just simply filled my eyes. Staring at those numerous formations carved by erosion gave me the feeling of that the land was expanding and the canyon itself was deepening.

It humbles, you, yes, but it also provides you with a feeling of intense gratification, that you are part of its sheer magnificence, that it is a part of you.
The Grand Canyon, painstakingly chiseled out over millions of years is testimony to the relentless power of nature.
Breathtaking!
Looking at the horizon I could not tell where the earth ends and where the heaven begins.
The day was ended with a walk to the rim to watch the beautiful sunset. Great days are thus ended this way.

I am blessed.

God is good!

Cruisin' at Lake Powell

After more than 10 hours of driving from Salt Lake City, we arrived finally to our next destination- Arizona! We stayed at the Lake Powell Resort in Page. The resort offers several lodging packages that include kayaking, water skiing, boating and other water sports. One of the major attraction on this place is of course, the beautiful Lake Powell.Lake Powell is the second largest man-made lake in America. It's a boater’s paradise! Bordered by sandstone canyons, the lake is part of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, which covers hundreds of miles in Arizona and Utah.

The lake is a hidden gem, a beautiful juxtaposition of water and rock. It is long and narrow with many steep canyons through which the water meanders. After 3 days on the road, it's nice to just relax and feel the cool breeze of the scenery.Am I thinking of someone? Hmmmm....
I just love to make people smile! Sorry, mahiyain talaga ako. Lol!

Welcome to Salt Lake City!

As far as I know Utah is the home of the 2002 Winter Olympics, Sundance Film Festival, Utah Jazz of the NBA and the home of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints a.k.a Mormons.
Friday night we arrived late at Salt Lake City. I was so tired driving but this not stop me to explore nightlife in the city. After getting settled into the hotel we took a quick trip into the downtown, only about a 7 minute drive. Thirty minutes after, we decided to go to a bar called Port' O Call which was highly recommended by the hotel concierge. The problem was we have to wait for a long line and I was obliged to sign a membership card just to to get in. Anyway, the club was so-so, not as impressive compared to the clubs in New York and Vegas.
The next day, we went to the Olympic Center in Park City. We were able to watch young people training for the Olympics in the ski jump training pool. The tour of the facilities is very good. Bob sled rides are available at certain times and if you're a fan of Amazing Race, you'll recognize this place. As a final point of note, I’ll say that Salt Lake is a very clean and cultured city. I found more entertaining things to see in the area than I had imagined. They say that the Mormons have had a positive effect on the community without being as overbearing as I thought they might be. Would you like to see how many mormons I saw on the street? Just look at the photos!

Red Cliffs and Arches

One of the planned activities why we went to Utah was to go skydiving but at the last minute we backed out.

Friend: So, di na tayo matutuloy?

After 8 hours of driving, we arrived finally at the Red Cliffs Lodge. We consumed almost an hour looking for this place (our GPS didn't work!). It was located in a remote and dramatic red stone valley setting. Most of the roads were so dry and narrow. Well, it was worthy because I just loved the scenic view while eating in their restaurant and the namesake red cliffs was excellent.

In the morning, I was able to see their working ranch and winery, most tourist went horseback riding, river rafting and wine tasting, others just lie around the pool. One good thing about this place is that they have large vineyard, they grow their own grapes and serve their own wine, unfortunately there were no fruits yet.
Afterwards, we went to Arches National Park also in Moab. If you're a nature lover, I bet you will like this place. It was worth every exhausting step for this out of shape traveler. The rock formations were so diverse and unusual
Wish I had more time to spend and take a lot of photos but we have to hurry and drive to Salt Lake City for another 8 hours.
Okay, need to run! my sunblock didn't work, I'm toasted! Lol!

So close

A life goes by
Romantic dreams will stop
So I bid mine goodbye and never knew
So close was waiting, waiting here with you
And now forever I know
All that I wanted to hold you
So close

We’re so close
To reaching that famous happy end
And almost believing this was not pretend
Let’s go on dreaming for we know we are
So close,
so close
And still so far

I'll be gone for a while. I'm travelling to Utah then to Arizona.

Colbie Caillat in Concert

Phone Conversation:

Friend: May lakad ka ba bukas?

Coldman: Wala, bakit?

Friend: Nood tayo ng concert?

Coldman: Concert nino?

Friend: Si Colbie.

Coldman: Ha? Sino?

Friend: Si Colbie Caillat!

Coldman: Sino siya, di ko siya kilala. May sikat ba siyang kanta?

Friend: Oo naman, alam mo yung kantang Realize?

Coldman: Hindi.

Friend: Sabay kanta ng Realize.. "If we just realize what I just realized...Then we'd be perfect for each other and we'll never find another.... "

Coldman: Para sa akin ba yung kantang yun?

Friend: Gago! Feeling ka naman!

Coldman: Hahaha!

On Balloons and Ferris Wheel

Back at home! Saturday morning, I woke up early to go to the park. It was beautiful and sunny, a perfect day to walk . Got my cam and took some pictures with the hot air balloon up in the sky. It was just so surreal watching them above but I’ve always wanted to experience what it would be like to actually ride in one of them instead of being the one looking up. Hmmm...

Saturday afternoon, I drove to the state fair, bought some cotton candies and walked like everyone else. I feel like a child staring those rides particularly the Ferris wheel. Back when I was a kid, I almost passed out during my first ride in that cyclic wheel, I dont know but I did not enjoy it. As a look to those people inside the cart, I saw most of their reactions, some were scared, some were excited and others were happy. I then realize that life is like a Ferris wheel. That's pretty profound, right?

But if you think about it, it's really true. And I can think of two reasons why it's true. One is that a Ferris Wheel, like life, is cyclic. Life and Ferris Wheels turn in cycles and bring us to similar points again and again. Secondly, at certain points in the ride of life, we go from feeling very secure to feeling very insecure.

You know as your riding up, you feel pretty secure at the bottom part, but then you go to the top, then, right before everything seems to fall away, there's a moment that you feels very, at least for me, very unnerving. And then, after you pass that point, then you feel okay again. And I hate it when the operator stops the wheel right at the top, at that point between feeling secure and insecure.
Anyway, that's too much for an analysis. The bottomline is at every point that we ride through, it seems like there's another point where we have to stop and face the transition and that's the reality of life.
Okay, I just miss being a little boy, when things are not so complicated. =)

Hoover Dam

Since there is nothing to do in the morning in Vegas (aside from recovering from hangover) we decided to go for a tour in Hoover Dam. The Dam generates electricity, provides flood control and acts as a reservoir for southern Nevada, California and Arizona.

If Hoover Dam is the coolest man-made river-tamer in the USA, it’s also the hottest, at least during the summer. With a blazing temparature of 110 F (43 C) It's really hot! Tourists apparently don’t mind getting seared as they peer down the mammoth concrete face. My skin have not recovered yet after the LA beach trip and now another sun exposed walking again. Hey, I'm toasted! Lol!
When the bus arrived, the first thing I noticed was the size of the Dam. Boy, it was huge. The Hoover Dam stands 726 feet tall, which is almost 200 feet taller than the Washington Monument in Washington D.C.! Okay that was according to our tour guide!
Honestly I did not enjoy this trip, all I want is to go back to the hotel and sleep. =)
But one interesting fact, several movies were shot here like Superman, Fools Rush in, Universal Soldiers,Transformers and of course For the First Time starring KC and Richard. Lol!

It's Vegas Baby!

I wonder how many times this subject line had been used, but the truth is Vegas is all about money! As soon as I landed at the McCarron airport I was overwhelmed by the sudden urge to gamble- there are slot machines sitting right by the luggage claim. Yes, too much temptation just at the beginning of the trip!
I lost a lot money, had to sell my car, my whole savings gone and so I'm broke. Nah, Just kidding! I wont do that, my mom will kill me! Lol! Okay, honestly I doubled my money with that casino war! Enough to pay some of my bills!
First off, I don't care to gamble. Actually I do like to gamble in certain ways, take risks and expect returns on those risks. My first gambling experience happened in Mohegan Sun in Connecticut last year and luckily I won but Vegas style risks are high, and the odds for a payout are low, so it doesn't make much sense to risks my hard earned money on something that has very little chance of offering a return.
Aside from gambling, one good thing to do is to go "hotel hopping". Most of the hotels are built around a chosen theme which have been executed innovatively. I didn't know that hotel and casino were synonymous here. The front door of most hotels generally leads, not to the hotel lobby but directly into the casino. That's tricky!
The Strip is about a dozen lanes wide, and they have pedestrian walkways that cross the intersections to keep walkers from disrupting motor vehicle traffic. They can be accessed either by escalator or elevator from the street, or from inside the hotels. We toured some of these hotels - The Palazzo, Wynn, MGM, Caesar’s Palace, Monte Carlo, New York New York, Paris, the Venetian, Excalibur, the Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Mirage, and Treasure Island
Friday night we watched Cirque du Soleil's show KA at the MGM Grand. The theater is custom made with an incredible moving stage and surround sound speakers in the back of every seat, the acrobatics are breathtaking and the overall "wow!" factor is overwhelming. At first I was too sleepy to watch the show partly because of the endless walking from hotel to hotel but without doubt the best stage show I've ever seen! Afterwards, we partied at Studio 54. The club was awesome though a little bit crowded, I had a blast dancing! (eventhough I'm not a good dancer!)

The next day, we went to Fremont, it's the old downtown Vegas. Compared to the Strip, drinks are much cheaper and the people are not too formal. (Strip is to Greenbelt, Fremont is to Quiapo) The major attraction is the free light show that flashes colorful graphics and animations on a huge LED screen . It puts your head on a swivel. The canopy of lights is capable of vivid animation, and the music is loud enough to be infectious without being obnoxious and shattering eardrums.
This is the only advantage of not bringing a date! Coldman can still be charming as he can be except for that Sheryl Cruz hand gesture! Ang jologs ko! Hahaha!Okay, that's the wholesome summary of my adventure, so where's the orgasmic part of the trip?

Well, like anyone else I will also follow the old tradition saying- What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! Lol!

Hoover Dam photos coming up!

The Bellagio Experience

This was my first trip to Vegas and I was inspired to go there after watching 21. Lol! Since it's my first time, I decided to stay at Bellagio. Remember Ocean's Eleven? This was probably one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. I stayed for 3 days. The service was outstanding. They make you feel like royalty, and my room was fantastic.(especially the bathroom!) However, it was expensive as expected. Well, I'd like to treat myself for a change! Hey, I'm young, handsome and single! Lol! The food was very good, from the king crab legs to the desserts and everything was kept impeccably clean. But I must admit, it's not cheap. It's buffet! Sorry, no more diet!

There were several things about the Bellagio that I loved. One of them was the pool area. It is exclusive to guests and the foliage and trees surrounding its 8 pools make privacy easy even among hundreds of people. The pool area cafe was one of my favorites, as there is really something to be said for being served an elegant meal while in your bathing suit surrounded by beautiful sites. *grin*
The most exciting attraction- the fountain show! This is more than a show, it's a moving experience. The music combined with the graceful and stunning movement of the water is overwhelming. I could watch these shows all day and never grow tired of them. You must watch at least one show if you go to Vegas. It's free and each show last approximately 10-15 mins.
Now, everytime I hear Andrea Bocelli's "Time To Say Goodbye" or BJ Thomas "Raindrops keep falling on my head" I still think of hearing it at the spectacular Bellagio Fountain Show - it was gorgeous!
View from my room
This is what you called "doin it on my own while having a stiff neck" pose. Lol!
The only thing I regret? - not bringing a date!

But actually, I was thinking of someone....

Well, probably next time you'll come with me. I hope.

More Vegas stories and photos coming up!
